Factory Scheduled Maintenance done right, by people who know imports
You do not have to go to a dealer to keep your car in good shape. We do the same services with the same fluids and parts. Once the work is done, we reset the service light too.
Do you know what your car is due for? If not, call 706-353-3880. Tell us the model and the miles, and we will look it up.
BMW uses a system that tracks each service by condition and time. Mercedes-Benz switches between Service A and Service B. Audi and VW want oil that meets their own spec, and the wrong oil hurts the engine. Honda uses a Maintenance Minder code on the dash. Toyota and Lexus run on a simple mileage list. Subaru asks for shorter oil intervals than most. We know each plan and follow it at Athens Import Auto Repair in Athens, GA.
Signs you are due for service
- A service due message or wrench light shows on the dash.
- It has been a year since the last oil change, even with low miles.
- You cannot recall when the brake fluid or coolant was last changed.
- The engine sounds louder than it used to, or it feels tired.
- You just bought a used import and have no records.
- You are near a big mileage mark like 60,000 or 100,000 miles.
What our maintenance service covers
15K, 30K, 60K and 90K services
Each mileage mark has its own factory checklist. We do each item on the list for your miles, and nothing you do not need.
Oil service with the right oil
European brands need oil that meets a set spec. We use that oil, then reset the service counter.
Filters
We change engine air, cabin air and fuel filters. Dirty ones cost power and fuel.
Fluid services
We change brake fluid, coolant, transmission fluid and differential fluid. Each one has its own interval.
Spark plugs and belts
We replace plugs and drive belts at the miles your brand calls for.
Timing belt service
Some Honda, Toyota and Subaru engines have a timing belt. That belt must be changed before it breaks.
Full inspection
We check brakes, tires, suspension, lights and leaks. You hear what is fine and what is close.
Service light reset
We reset the service reminder so your car knows the work was done.

Why drivers trust us with factory scheduled maintenance
We follow the factory checklist
Each brand has its own list for each mileage, so we do what your car needs. There is no one size fits all package here.
Correct fluids
BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VW and Porsche each list an oil spec. We stock the right one for each.
We watch for the next thing
During service we look ahead. That way we can tell you what is coming, so you can plan.
I bought a 2008 Mini Cooper S. Clubman about a month ago. I replaced just about everything on the engine to no avail. It just would not idle like it should. I determined it was a bad timing chain. As it turned out I was right. I took it to James who agreed and he had his technician Tony replace the timing chain components. They went the extra mile to remove the oil pan and remove the chewed up debris from the oil pump screen. It now runs like a brand new car! Thanks to them, I'll enjoy this car for many years to come. Great service and very polite. Very knowledgeable too.
Rob, customerFactory Scheduled Maintenance FAQ
Do you do factory scheduled maintenance for imports in Athens, GA?
Yes, we do. Athens Import Auto Repair follows the factory service plan for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Honda, Toyota and more. We use the right fluids and reset the service light. Call 706-353-3880 to book.
Will I void my new car coverage if I skip the dealer?
No, it will not. Federal law lets you use any qualified shop for service. We keep records of each visit. Keep your receipts, and you are covered.
What is Mercedes-Benz Service A and Service B?
Service A is the smaller one, with an oil change, filter and inspection. Service B adds more items like the cabin filter and brake fluid. The two alternate each year or 10,000 miles.
What does the Honda Maintenance Minder code mean?
The letter and number tell you what is due. A means an oil change, and B adds an inspection. The numbers add items like filters or fluids. Tell us the code, and we will do that service.
How often should I change the oil in my Audi?
Audi says every 10,000 miles or one year. Many owners in hot Georgia weather go a bit sooner, though. Either way, we use oil that meets the Audi spec.
What is a 30K or 60K service?
It is the set of checks and changes your carmaker lists for that mileage. A 30K service is often just oil, filters and an inspection. A 60K service adds items like spark plugs, brake fluid and transmission fluid. Either way, we follow the factory checklist for your car.
